Sometimes it is hard to comprehend how quickly our lives transition from one phase to another. The last few years have been a whirlwind for all us – but I am eternally grateful for all the blessings that God has bestowed on me, my dear wife Amy, and our children and grandchildren.
This informal blog is a chance to share with all of you my pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago Frances. Many have asked: “why such a journey?” And while I am not sure that I have a particular reason or explanation, it does seem that a pilgrimage such as this is simply a microcosm of our own lives; we move forward not always knowing what is next but trust in the Lord and His path.
While it is a wonderful gift to retire from the stresses of a busy and challenging professional career, it seems to me that there must be more to retirement than a bad golf game, household chores, and quiet nights at home. Perhaps this Camino and the time away will help discern what is truly next for Amy and me.
